Biography
Martin Kampel is a Senior Scientist at the Computer Vision Lab, Vienna University of Technology, engaged in research, project coordination, industry consulting, and teaching. His main research interest is Computer Vision applied to real-world problems and technology transfer. His current research focus is human behaviour modelling from multimodalities, and explainable AI applied to Active Assisted Living. He edited four proceedings, is the author or co-author of more than 200 scientific peer-reviewed publications presented at several international conferences and workshops and is a member of the IAPR and the IEEE. He has extensive experience as Principal Investigator and coordinator in national and international cooperative projects, including AAL-JP, H2020 and Marie Curie Actions. As a co-founder, he was involved in four startups demonstrating his expertise in applied research and technology transfer.
